A familiar partnership, a new chapter, and a lot more to come

Some partnerships just make sense.

Travel Trackers and ResRequest have worked alongside each other for over a decade, combining raw hospitality data with the kind of analytics that helps operators understand what is really happening in their businesses.

Now, we’re making that relationship a whole lot closer.

Travel Trackers has officially been acquired by ResRequest and has moved in-house with the team.

For existing customers, nothing changes overnight. The Travel Trackers team, the services, and the analytical suite that customers rely on will continue exactly as is.

Behind the scenes, though, something pretty exciting is beginning.

A little Travel Trackers history

Travel Trackers has a story that feels very familiar to us, because it started in hospitality itself.

The founders of Travel Trackers, Tom and Kate Imrie, didn’t arrive in this industry through software, data or spreadsheets. Their journey to ResRequest started in a safari camp – learning hospitality by delivering it. Guiding and training might have seemed a long way from board packs back then, but oddly, now it doesn’t.

That experience matters.

They understand the industry behind the numbers. They understand the questions operators ask and the challenges teams face on the ground, and – importantly – they understand which information is actually useful when it comes to making a decision.

For over 10 years they have been crafting reporting tools in response to what the industry has been asking for. Listening, and a sense of natural curiosity, have borne an expertise in taking hospitality data and turning it into something meaningful, practical and easy to use.

You may already know their work

If you use ResInsite, you already know Travel Trackers, and probably have an easy familiarity with both Tom and Kate.

But Travel Trackers has never been limited to ResRequest.

Today, they provide analytics services to ResRequest customers, a smaller number of Opera customers, as well as hospitality businesses using other PMS platforms. They also have a handful of solutions outside tourism.

That flexibility isn’t going anywhere.

Travel Trackers will remain system-agnostic and will continue providing analytical solutions across the hospitality industry, regardless of the systems powering the data.

So, why bring Travel Trackers into ResRequest?

Because the opportunity is much bigger than reporting.

Travel Trackers brings a deep, hard-won understanding of hospitality analytics into the business at a time when data, technology and AI are changing the landscape dramatically. ResRequest brings deep experience in reservations, distribution, property operations and hospitality software. Micros South Africa brings access to another large community of hospitality businesses and systems. And together, as part of the broader Adapt IT, Volaris Group and Constellation Software family, there’s an even larger pool of technology, data, product and industry experience we can now draw on.

This creates some really interesting possibilities.

We see opportunities to grow Travel Trackers’ solutions across ResRequest and Micros customers, whilst continuing to support hospitality businesses using other platforms. It also allows us to move beyond traditional reporting and start exploring a new generation of analytical tools and services, particularly as AI changes the way businesses can interact with and learn from their data.

Travel Trackers on the move

For Travel Trackers, joining ResRequest feels like a natural evolution.

“It’s a move we’ve contemplated for some time, and it’s awesome to finally be joining the ResRequest family. They gave us our first opportunity 10 years ago and have earnestly supported us through all our growth spurts and leaps of faith. It’s a natural fit, and what excites us most is that we can keep doing what we love – working with fabulous people across multiple hospitality systems, helping people make sense of their data. Now, with a bigger pool of technology, experience and ideas around us, it’s time to get creative again. We have lots of ideas about where analytics and AI could take us next, and we’re really looking forward to getting stuck in,” says Tom and Kate Imrie, Travel Trackers.

Same people. More tools. Bigger possibilities.

For Travel Trackers customers, this isn’t a story about something disappearing, or about being locked into ResRequest. Quite the opposite – existing analytics and services remain in place, and there’s nothing customers need to change as a result of the acquisition.

What does change is what now sits around the Travel Trackers team. A wealth of experience and technology available across ResRequest, Micros and the wider Group gives Travel Trackers more space to experiment with a bigger toolset. There are new voices, fresh ideas, different perspectives and plenty of energy.

New products and services will emerge as we bring together hospitality expertise, analytics, technology, data and AI. It’s a new space, and we don’t have all the answers yet – we’ll need to enlist some of your help too.

Jill Bennett-Howes, ResRequest CEO, says: “We’ve worked with Tom and Kate for years, so this genuinely feels like bringing friends into the community. They know hospitality, they know data, and they’re really good at turning that combination into something useful for customers. Now we get to put their ideas together with everything we have across ResRequest, Micros and the wider Group. With everything changing around data and AI, there is opportunity for really clever solutions for the hospitality industry, and we’re incredibly excited to get started.”

What happens next?

Travel Trackers has joined the ResRequest team and is finding its way around its new home. Current Travel Trackers customers will continue to receive the services they know today. The collective teams will remain focused on helping hospitality businesses get more value from their data, with the advantage of closer collaboration.

With AI opening up entirely new ways of working with hospitality data, we suspect there will be plenty for us to build together.
